Rabbi Baroness Julia Neuberger will be discussing approaches to end of life care at the University of Gloucestershire’s Cathedral Lecture.

The Senior Rabbi at West London Synagogue, and a cross bench member of the House of Lords, she chaired the review of the Liverpool Care Pathway, developed to help health professionals deliver quality palliative care, for the Government.

The free event is part of the University Festival and takes place at Gloucester Cathedral on 7 June 2016.

Baroness Neuberger, who regularly appears on BBC Radio 2’s Pause for Thought, said: “The topic of the lecture is Dying Well, and explores what kind of choices we can make when faced with our own death, whatever the circumstances, and how we can die at peace.”

She is passionate about issues surrounding the end of life, in addition to asylum, refugees and immigration, volunteering and mental health. She set up the Walter and Liesel Schwab Charitable Trust in memory of her parents, specifically to benefit young asylum seekers.

Dying Well – how can we make choices? is at Gloucester Cathedral on June 7 and the lecture starts at 6.45pm, with refreshments from 5.45pm. Places are free but must be booked in advance at https://cathedral-lecture.eventbrite.co.uk
