Find out how you can double your donation to the home during these times which are particularly hard on pets

The Cotswolds Dogs & Cats Home has launched an urgent appeal for donations to help with the running of the home and care costs for the pets.

Dubbing animals the “invisible victims of COVID-19”, the home is hoping to raise £15,000 to offset the large numbers of people who can’t look after pets because of illness or find it hard to cope with a pet during lockdown.

Due to the coronavirus outbreak, the home has had to cancel all of its spring and summer fundraising events and close all 10 of its charity shops. Taking all of this into account, the charity has already lost and will continue to lose £30,000 each month until the lockdown is lifting and normal fundraising can resume.

A generous supporter of the home has agreed to match donations pound for pound up to the value of £15,000, which would mean that the home can collect the £30,000 needed for one month’s financial cover.

If you can spare some money, you could be helping an abandoned dog or cat in need. The appeal has already raised nearly £7,000.
