The race is now on for one lucky couple to win a free romantic break at one of the Cotswolds best-loved family hotels after a colourful Valentines Day giveaway.

Staff at the Dormy House Hotel, near Broadway, released 99 red balloons into the air last week. Everyone who finds one of the balloons and returns the attached card will go into a draw to win dinner, bed and breakfast at the four-star venue.

Already balloon tags are being returned from as far as Surrey. The prize draw will be made in August as soon the hotel re-opens.

General manager David Field says, We look forward to seeing how far our balloons travel and also to welcoming the lucky winner, who will be among the first to stay in our new-look hotel.

The Dormy will close in mid-March for 10m of redevelopment work to begin. It will reopen after the 5m first phase this summer and will remain open while work continues on the 5m House Spa, which is due to open in early 2014.
