More than 50 Gloucestershire wedding suppliers from across the county celebrated this week the success of four of their colleagues scooping National Wedding Industry Awards. Meeting at their bi-monthly networking events known as GlosWed, the cream of the local wedding industry met to congratulate the award winners at The Greenway Hotel & Spa near Cheltenham. Charlotte the weddings & events manager and Luc from the sales team were present to answer questions about the hotel and to also offer guided tours of the stunning bedrooms and recently built spa, which proved to be very popular.

In attendance, were the winners & runners up from the recent National Wedding Awards in London where Gloucestershire swept the board beating dozens of other suppliers. The South-West came home with four of the top prizes in Wedding Planning (Ruth Hunter of Finesse Planning), Entertainment (Darren Campbell of Darren Campbell Magician), Best Wedding Special Touches (Kirsten Butler of The Little Wedding Helper) and a highly commended for Make-up Artistry & Styling (Sophie Everett of Makeup Artist Sophie Everett).

The GlosWed tweet-ups have been running for two years and were started by Jonathon Watkins of PhotoGlow Photography and Suzie Goodman from Karma Kars with Neil Ollerton of Cheltenham Wedding DJ joining the team last year. These tweet-ups are arranged outside the wedding season and enable wedding suppliers to meet, network and support each other. This has proved very successful with almost 200 members in the private Facebook group and many people following the #GlosWed hashtag on Twitter.

Organiser of the GlosWed event and local photographer Jonathon Watkins said, Its inspiring to see the awards close up because we are so proud of them. Their wins have put Gloucestershire and The Cotswolds firmly on the map as the destination to get married in with the best suppliers.

The Gloucestershire wedding networking events are organised 4-6 times a year by professional photographer Jonathon Watkins from PhotoGlow Photography, Suzie Goodman, owner of Karma Kars Cotswold, an Indian wedding car company and Neil Ollerton, owner of Cheltenham Wedding DJ. GlosWed is a new style of networking meeting, organised through the social networking site Twitter, also known as a Tweetup and is open to anyone in the Gloucestershire wedding industry.

The Greenway will be showcasing their venue and suppliers on March 24, 2013 between 11am & 4pm.
