Gloucestershire College is launching a new IT Apprenticeship, starting January 2013.

We are looking for local employers interested in shaping the new IT apprenticeship programme, ensuring it is tailored to local business needs.

We will be holding an employer consultation evening on 17th October from 5-7pm at our Gloucester Campus, where you will be able to discuss course content and modules with our Computing Head of School and GC Business Hub Consultants and inform the structure of the new IT apprenticeship.

This is an excellent opportunity for you to be involved from the outset and help to shape the new IT apprenticeship programme at Gloucestershire College.

About the new IT apprenticeship

The Apprenticeship programme is designed for new entrants to a role in the IT sector, and to provide progression and re-skilling routes for existing IT Professionals. The Apprenticeship covers work in a broad range of technologies that help us use and share information. IT jobs are no longer just about the technology, all jobs now require you to have good people skills as well as the technical skills gained during an Apprenticeship.

The IT industry develops computer solutions that help businesses and individuals become more successful in their work. IT professionals serve customers in all types of business, from developing software or websites, helping companies set up new systems, or training people to use their IT facilities.
