David Walliams set off at 8.30 this morning from the Riverside Inn, Lechlade, on his charity swim for Sport Relief.

The Little Britain star is to swim along the Thames 140 miles in total over eight days, passing through Oxford, Reading, Windsor and Kingston, before finishing at Big Ben in London on September 12.

Cotswold Life business writer Nicky Godding was there this morning to see him off and take these photographs.

Davids swim is to be filmed for a documentary to be broadcast in time for Sport Relief weekend March 2012.
