Kind hearted colleagues at Dalehead Foods’ Corsham manufacturing facility have been busy over the last 12 months raising money for a number of worthy local causes.
The charitable bunch have organised a number of events including an Easter Egg raffle, a Christmas Lunch Donation, Ice Skating and even a 100 mile triathlon for a brave group of their graduates. The 12 intrepid bunch of youngsters completed a 55 mile cycle around Rutland Water, a 20 mile swim and the Yorkshire three peak challenge.
Dalehead colleagues took part in the Macmillan Coffee Morning for the charity which improves the lives of people living with cancer and their team of engineers grew moustaches for Movember which funds projects focusing on men’s health including prostate cancer and testicular cancer.
Additional fundraising activities included raising money by wearing their favourite football T-Shirts for The Bobby Moore Fund and a raffle to support BDCI (Buthchers’ and Drovers’ Charitable Institution), a cause close to their heart as it is the meat industry’s own trade charity, providing support for those who work or previously worked in the meat industry but have fallen on hard times.
Jamie Lee, HR Assistant for Dalehead Foods explains, “We are thrilled to have raised over £1,700 for several very worthy causes. Our team have been so busy over the last 12 months conducting events which really helped build team working skills as well as raising much needed funds.
“We were amazed by the work the charities do on a daily basis and all the team felt they wanted to get involved and help including our graduate trainees who completed the gruelling 100 mile triathlon.”
As well as raising much needed funds for a number of causes, colleagues have also raised money for national charity Make-A-Wish ® which makes wishes come true for children living with life-threatening conditions and has benefited to the tune of 80,000 from the fund raising efforts of Dalehead Foods and parent company Tulip ltd over the last two years.
