Ladies are being offered the opportunity to attend this season's races in style and help a good cause, thanks to Cheltenham Racecourse and Acorn Children's Hospice.

The Acorns Children’s Hospice shop on the High Street is raffling off two tickets for a day at the races at the town’s racecourse. To further entice shoppers into through the doors the shop has a selection of hats for sale to give race-goers a head start in the style stakes.

The tickets, which include car parking, were donated by Cheltenham Racecourse for the race day on Wednesday 16 April. They are part of a prize draw hamper which includes chocolates, buck’s fizz and a selection of gifts.

Deputy shop manager, Vanessa Bunting, said: “We are getting into the spirit of the Cheltenham races here at the Acorns shop. We have a wide selection of hats for sale, priced from £8-£25, many of which are presented in their original hatbox. Even if you don’t win the tickets to the races the hats would be perfect for a wedding or other formal occasion.

“Acorns Children’s Hospice doesn’t charge families for making use of its services, regardless of the ever increasing costs involved. We rely heavily on fundraising and regular donations therefore we hope that people in Cheltenham will spare just £1 to buy a raffle ticket to win this great prize.”
