Winstons Wish celebrate 20th Anniversary with local singer songwriter George Montague
Winston's Wish, the leading childhood bereavement charity is delighted to announce that local singer songwriter, George Montague and BWM Promo are holding a fundraising gig to be held at the Wotton Hall Concert Room on Friday 19th October in Gloucester to raise vital funds for the charity.
We are so excited about George playing this special gig for Winstons Wish, especially in our 20th anniversary year. George is a real talent and we know our supporters will really enjoy this unique event and his energetic style of music. We are very grateful to George and BWM Promo for choosing to support us in this way said Sally Gillespie, Fundraiser for Winstons Wish.
George Montague said; Over the past 20 years Winstons Wish has helped so many children across the UK with wonderful support and love. It is a great honour to have been asked to play my music and help raise money for them. I am most happy to have the rather brilliant, local act, Saskia Says as support and we welcome you to join us for an awesome evening of laughter, fun and music!
George and his band were recently quoted by BBC News Stephen Morris; George Montague is a formidable talent, as composer, multi-instrumentalist and all round showman - his live sets are an explosion of creativity, passion and fun. Lots of passion. Bucketfuls of fun.
George Montague's debut album captures the incendiary spirit of his live performances a creation built around his piano-based virtuosity. Much of this faultlessly constructed, perfectly crafted album is given over to pomp and funky swagger, Montague knows how to delight and connect with his audience's soul. 'Have You Met George' is a celebration of life, a musical marvel and something of a masterpiece.
This fundraising gig allows the people of Gloucestershire the opportunity to see this unsigned artist who has a true passion for playing live.
Winstons Wish, whose Head Office is in Cheltenham, is the largest provider of services to bereaved children, young people and their families in the UK. The charity which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year offers practical support and guidance to bereaved children, families and professionals.
