Dorothy House is launching a brand new sponsored event this year: a 5k winter fun run through the picturesque woodland of Brokerswood Country Park with all the participants dressed in Santa suits.

The Santa Dash takes place on Sunday 4 December at 11am and is open to anyone over the age of 16. Event organiser Phillippa Watson said: You can run, jog or even walk the woodland course and best of all, you get to keep your Santa costume, which might just come in handy later in the month.

The registration fee is 15 per person, which includes a five-piece Santa costume. Prizes will be awarded for the best individual and team fundraisers, and refreshments will be served post-Dash.

Phillippa added: Were really looking forward to the first Dorothy House Santa Dash and cant wait to see 300-odd Santas on the starting line: it should be a really fun event just the thing to help everyone get into the festive spirit.

Pauline Fleming from Brokerswood Country Park said: "We're delighted to be hosting the inaugural Santa Dash at the park. Several members of staff from Brokerswood have already signed up to take part, and we're all keen to help Dorothy House raise as much cash as possiblefor their very worthy cause."

For more details about the event, or to request an entry form, please call the Dorothy House fundraising department on 01225 721480 or email pwatson@dorothyhouse-hospice.org.uk
