Printmaking Symposium, Stroud

A symposium was held to mark the first national festival of printmaking IMPRESS '09, whch took place in Stroud and its five valleys, consisting of exhibitions, workshops and guided tours.

The museum in the Park hosted an exhibition fresh from Tate Britain celebrating 50 years of the Curwen Studio - the first studio in Britain where master printmakers collaborated with artists, printmakers collaborated with artists, including Henry Moore, Elizabeth Frink and Paula Rego. speakers at the symposium included the Curwen studio's creator, Stanley Jones, writer and artist Richard Noyce, Paul Croft and Tom Martin. Guests were treated to a sumptuous lunch in the sunshine between seminars.
