Last Friday (November 30) saw the opening of Modern Leisure, a pop-up makers' market at Badbrook Hall, Stroud.
Last Friday (November 30) saw the opening of Modern Leisure, a pop-up makers market at Badbrook Hall, Stroud.
Modern Leisure is the creation of Edward Lawrenson and Anna Brooke, an artistic couple whose business Box-Kite and Glider designs and makes products using up-cycled and reclaimed materials. Theunique pop-up event showcases the work of local artists and designers, including bespoke furniture makers, textile artists, embroiders, weavers, painters ceramicists and much more. Visitors can sample delights from Fat Tonis Pizza, try cupcakes from Chunky Cherub Cakes or have a 50s-style makeover from Lady K.
Fridays opening saw artist friends and the best of Stroud piling through the doors to enjoy live music, hot food and a range of creative talent on offer from the local area.
Modern Leisure will also be open next weekend (Saturday and Sunday, December 8 & 9) at Badbrook Hall, Bath Street, Stroud, GL5 3BZ.
