If you’re planning a last-minute trip to the Cheltenham Festival, there is still some go-to accommodation available around town. Jo Moulds picks some of the best
Luxury guesthouse accommodation in the heart of Cheltenham, 81 The Prom has one family room for Monday or Tuesday night for four people, B&B (£550); a Balcony room for two people B&B Monday (£350-£400, price available with discount if booking via Genius guest via booking.com, or Business Traveller); a double room B&B for Thursday or Friday night (£220), or a Family room for four people on Friday (£550). - Bliss Apartments
In three locations around Cheltenham. Currently available is a one-bed apartment with a double and a single bed for up to three people Tuesday or Wednesday evening (£349); one-bed for Thursday evening for three people (£299) or Friday evening (£279). On Wednesday, there is a two-bed apartment that can sleep up to six (approximately £549), and, for Thursday, a two-bed apartment (up to six people, approximately £479) and Friday evening, a two-bed apartment (up to six people, approximately £449).

Just outside Cheltenham on the racecourse side of town, the beautiful Grade II-listed Glenfall House has space B&B in its Coach House, a twin room on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday (from £250) including full English breakfast. In the main house, Kingsize double rooms are available (from £375). This is a lovely place to retreat after a day at the races.

- Central Studios, Hatherley and Gloucester Road
With a range of accommodation, the Central Studios' Group has one double room available on Monday evening (£39) or a five-bedroom house that sleeps up to 10 people in Hatherley on Monday evening (£500). At the other end of the scale, No.131, part of The Lucky Onion group, has one, no-cancellation, double available B&B on Wednesday or Thursday (£658.35), and one of their Outstanding rooms, a double, for Thursday or Friday evenings (£932.66). This is a truly luxurious choice for the Races.

Very convenient for the town centre, the Citrus Cheltenham has one double or two twin rooms B&B for Monday evening ((£428.91); for Wednesday, there is one double and three twin rooms available (£348.81); for Thursday, there are six twins or doubles (£339), and for Friday night, there are six doubles, two twins (£244) and one suite (double, £276)

Another very chi-chi choice, Malmaison has, for Monday evening, one single (£171 room only or £187 B&B), one Superior (sleeps two, £211 room only or £243 B&B), one Executive (sleeps two, £241 room only or £273 B&B). On Thursday evening pre Gold Cup Day, it has two single rooms available (£636 room only). These are all non-cancellable.

A heady spot to be for Race Week with a lively atmosphere and a Grand Dame of the Cheltenham hotel scene, there are 10 doubles available B&B for Monday evening (£184.50). For Wednesday, there are six Superior rooms with Queen-size bed B&B (£659, room only). On Thursday, there are four doubles (£599, room only). Thursday also has suites available with a Kingsize bed (for two people, £749, room only). Race Week Full Breakfasts are available £12.50 per person.
