The awards, which are open to all villages with a parish council or parish meeting, have a cash prize fund totalling 3,000. They are designed to recognise and celebrate the hard work being carried out in Gloucestershire village communities. The other categories included Best community project/initiative won by Gotherington; Healthy and active community, again won by Gotherington; and Most resilient community won by Bledington.

The Most promising newcomer award was won by Brockworth, and overall winner of the GRCC Vibrant Village of the Year was Gotherington. Runners up in the various categories included Kempsford, Whiteshill & Ruscombe and Lechlade.
