Charlotte Church hits Gloucester with her bold and unique new sound, creating vast musical landscapes, with big drums, big guitars, and a voice that has sold over 10 million records.
Leave your preconceptions at the door.
This is all the information Charlotte Churchs team deem necessary to sell their artist; a less is more approach leaving a lot to the imagination. And new single The Rise is also quite the tease a two-minute taste of just what her new direction might involve.
Born in 1986, Church came into the public eye aged 11 when she sang Andrew Lloyd Webber's Pie Jesu over the telephone on the television show This Morning. She released her debut album Voice of an Angel in 1998, selling millions of copies worldwide, and went on to sing for the Pope, The President, and dueted with some of the biggest names in music.
In 2005 she launched a new pop direction with the release of album Tissues and Issues. Despite the UK chart success of singles Crazy Chick and Call My Name, Tissues and Issues accounts for less than two per cent of Churchs combined global sales, and her US label failed to back the record.
Following the record, Church decided to take a break from music and concentrate on her family and her new TV career. The Charlotte Church Show began on Channel 4 in 2006, and ran for three series, with Church winning a British Comedy Award for Best Female Comedy Newcomer. She was also nominated for the prestigious Rose dOr award in 2008 for Best Entertainer. As well as her own show, Church has appeared in various other TV programmes such as Heartbeat, Have I Got News For You (as both panelist and host), and was one of the judges on Andrew Lloyd-Webbers 2010 show Over The Rainbow.
Now after a few years away from music, shes back with the bit between her teeth and a point to prove. We cant wait to hear the results.
