A celebrity fashion show and charity fundraiser that took place at the home of Forest Green Rovers on Sunday the 12th of September raised nearly 5,000 for Charity. The event saw celebrity friends of organiser Russell Nurding take to the stage to show off Cotswold fashion supplied by Me me me of Cirencester, Cotswold Country living, Verite Louise of Cheltenham and many more.
Star turns were put in by Ben Duncan of the final Big Brother; author Katie Fforde, Matthew Chambers of daytime show Doctors and Trisha Walsh-Smith of the cult Sky one show Pineapple Dance Studios. The event had to be extended beyond the original finish time of 6:30pm and ended up going on until after 8pm as friends of the celebrities invited heard about the event and so also got involved much to the delight of the audience.
Over 300 people came through the doors to lend their support. One of the boutiques showing off some their latest ranges was Knickerbockers of Nailsworth who were given the task of dressing the celebrities in new nightwear alongside putting several naked butlers in pants. It was a real challenge but thoroughly enjoyable, said Knickerbockers owner Verity Symcox. The audience were fantastic and it is an incredible sum to raise, a big thanks goes to Russell for making it such a special day.
The money will now go to Caring Matters now, a charity that looks after families and sufferers of Congenital Melanocytic Naevus, a rare skin condition. Today there are over 160 families registered to the charity and 10 regional groups offering regional support.
