Lords of the Manor's wine dinners are recognised as one of the highlights of the Cotswold social scene and the recent Giacosa dinner was no exception.

Lords of the Manors wine dinners are recognised as one of the highlights of the Cotswold social scene and the recent Giacosa dinner was no exception. Guests had travelled from all parts of the UK and there was a full house on a chilly Cotswold evening.

This wonderful family-owned estate in Piemont, Italy was founded in 1871 and produces wines that are undoubtedly world class. The Giacosa family philosophy is based on respect for local traditions in the vineyard and the cellar combined with a driving passion for perfection.
Lords of the Manor head chef, Matt Weedon produced a magnificent five-course dinner to accompany the wines, the highlight being a Valrohna chocolate tasting paired with a 2003 Barolo. Phil Weekes, director of Armit Wines, gave an informative commentary of each of the five wines tasted.
