Four times a year Ronnie Davies and Tim Pearson organise the Cirencester Toy & Train Fair in the town’s Bingham Hall, and the next is scheduled for Sunday December 21

Founded in January 2014, the Fair has rapidly become established itself among the popular fairs for toy and games collectors in the country, with around 120 tables generously heaped with stock.

The emphasis is firmly on vintage diecast, trains, games, figures and models from the 1950s through to the 1980s, but visitors will also find dealers offering a much wider range of collectables, including militaria, medals, ephemera and what might generically be described as ‘boys toys’.

This December’s Toy & Train Fair will also feature a Valuation Roadshow; visitors are invited to bring along choice items from their own collection to be assessed by a panel of experts.

Ronnie Davies said of the valuation service: “There’s no charge, but we hope that collectors will appreciate learning a bit more about their toys, and perhaps we’ll unearth some rare gems in the process!”

Dealers will also be looking to purchase fresh stock, so anyone with toys and games to sell is welcome to take them along.

Refreshments are available on-site throughout the day, from a full English Breakfast through ‘Light Lunches’ to traditional afternoon tea and a piece of cake.

Doors open at 10:00am, with entrance at £2 per head, free for children under 16. Ronnie and Tim are working very closely with the Fair’s adopted charity ROSEY, the Respite nursing for Oxfordshire’s Sick Youngsters. The charity works to increase awareness of the need for respite nursing care for terminally, acutely, or chronically ill children and babies and to raise funds to boost the extremely limited resources of Oxfordshire’s Children’s Respite Nursing Team. A collection will be made on the day and all contributions, including donations of toys for resale, will be most welcome.
