2015 Cotswold Food Hero

Tom Kerridge

Michelin star chef and Gloucestershire native Tom Kerridge started his career in the restaurants and hotels of the West Country, before moving further afield. Now, he is the chef patron of the two Michelin star restaurant The Hand and Flowers in Marlow. As well as writing recipe books he also makes regular television appearances, most recently in his own cooking show Tom Kerridge’s Proper Pub Food. He has described his own food as ‘Modern British adding new touches and ideas to classic dishes’.

This year’s winner is a great ambassador for the county. From humble beginnings – a single-parent family in Gloucester and a ‘latch-key kid’ - attending Saintbridge school and cooking for his younger brother while his mum was out working – he’s gone on to become one of the best chefs in the country.
