The second Assembly House Food Festival hits Norwich this month, promising to shine a light on exceptional producers, ingredients and hospitality in a month-long celebration.
Legendary food critic Jay Rayner returns to the house to talk about his Last Supper, game expert Jose L Souto delivers a game demonstration with wild meat, there's the chance to Eat Like Elvis while listening to live renditions of the King's greatest hits and there is also the launch of the Norfolk Cheese and Wine Festival.
Join Pudding Club to enjoy a parade of puddings set to a carousel of sweet disco tunes, celebrate the one-night return of The Lavender House restaurant's famous tasting menu and enjoy some truly magical food from a selection of pop-up chefs with incredible pedigrees, from vegan tasting feasts to Whole Beast nose-to-tail dining.
And then there's the chance to win cash prizes for your food photography with a competition which celebrates food shots taken in Norfolk between October 1 2018 to January 15 2020.
Chef director at The Assembly House, Richard Hughes, says: "Our first food festival was such a tremendous success that we have decided to hold a second and pack it full of events that we think offer something really exciting for people in Norfolk. The Assembly House was delighted to be awarded the Eastern Daily Press and East Anglian Daily Times' Norfolk and Suffolk Tourism Awards Food and Drink Destination of the Year earlier this year and is dedicated to putting the county firmly on the culinary map with an annual programme of exciting events, one of which is the food festival.
"We are lucky to live in a county where we really do have it all - fish and seafood fresh from the boat, seasonal vegetables straight from the field, extraordinary meat, exceptional dairy products, and incredible restaurants - and we hope The Assembly House Food Festival 2020 will help celebrate them all."
