Who are we?

House of Ceylon is a Bristol based family business launched in 2011 by Mother and Daughter-in-law team Judith Blagg and Manisha Da Silva-Blagg.

We import a range of authentic Sri Lankan chutneys and curry pastes that are lovingly handmade in Manisha’s mother’s ISO/HACCP certified factory in Kandy.

What do we sell?

Products included in the House of Ceylon range are:

• Date & Lime Chutney – awarded 2 gold stars from Guild of Fine Food

• Pineapple & Chilli Chutney – awarded a gold star from Guild of Fine Food

• Banana and Ginger Chutney – great accompaniment to a cheese board

• Sri Lankan Chicken Curry Paste – an authentic blend from the Spice Island

• Sri Lankan Vegetable Curry Paste – a mouth-watering curry for Vegetarians

Why did we set the Company up?

Manisha’s been involved in her mother’s business from a young age and still maintains a strong presence whilst working as a IT Manager at a major Telecom company in Bristol. Judith’s always wanted to start her own business and a strong entrepreneurial spirit drove Manisha and Judith to form House of Ceylon in 2011.

We love the products and felt that there was nothing quite like them available in the UK, it seemed like the obvious next step was to set up the business and get our range out to the foodie public. The response we’ve had to date has fully justified this.
