Something very special is happening in The Cotswolds…The Bell at Sapperton’s reputation, under its new ownership, is spreading like wildfire, with customers visiting from far and wide to sample the outstanding new menus and revel in the glorious ambience of this delightful ancient Cotswold establishment.

Already proving to be a refreshing cut above the rest, ‘The Bell’ is aiming to be best dining pub in Gloucestershire this year, and has set itself the target of ultimately becoming one of the best in the country. A self-inflicted challenge that it is clearly capable of delivering.

Under dynamic new ownership with a highly creative new young head chef already tipped as one of the country’s most exciting rising stars, The Bell has a bespoke hand-picked team of the very best chefs and front of house staff. This tight-knit robust team of professional staff is a well-tuned machine that delivers constant excellence in food, wine and customer service.

Outstanding Head Chef Carson Hill boasts a loyal team that he has worked with for more than five years, including talented artistic chefs Kevin Moore and Joel Lear. Carson is already achieving great things and has exciting and mouth-watering plans for the future.

Carson says, “The food at the bell is going to be a celebration of my experience to date, making it one of the best pubs in the country. Having been lucky enough to work in some of the best restaurants that England has to offer, The Bell is the perfect place to exercise my creative skills in a way which is true to the source. The food will be excellent British gourmet food influenced with both historic and ultra-modern elements. I will be cooking dishes that once made Britain great with a totally unique twist.”

The bell is a stunning and historic building in a fairy-tale setting. The Bell’s new owners believe that the pub belongs to the community, and that they are simply its curators. The management and the team on the floor is keen to offer something for everybody from unique tasting menus to Devilled kidneys on toast or scotch eggs and a pint of Guinness for £10.00.

Some of the customers’ favourite spring starters are; Chicken and pistachio terrine with red pepper jelly; Chilled pea soup with pea shoots and wild garlic pesto; and Confit of duck leg with ginger, sesame seeds and soy.

Our most popular mains are; Rump of new seasons lamb with carrot purée, pea and courgette, garlic and rosemary potato and leek and Cheese crumble, sorrel and nut dressing, seasonal vegetables .

Free range pork chop , black pudding and apple , turnips , fondant potato and also Rainbow carrots with sesame seeds chilli and organic Cotswold honey Salad!

My to favourite Desserts are;

Buttermilk and elderflower pudding, lychee .

Creme caramel , brandied sultanas ,Pine nuts and thyme .
