Fizz Fridays in Cheltenham: 10 places to enjoy weekend drinks

The weekend has finally arrived and what better way to celebrate time off then with a bottle of fizz? We pick 10 Cheltenham spots perfect for a few glasses (or bottles) of bubbly

1. Door 4, Montpellier Walk

A relative newcomer to Cheltenham’s busy social scene, Door 4 is fast becoming a favoured drinking haunt with plenty flocking throughout the week and weekend. With an extensive wine list carefully selected by the Door4’s experienced team and perfectly crafted cocktails, you know you’re in safe hands when it comes to your night out. It gets even better from 5pm on Friday when half price Prosecco, Champagne and sparkling wines are on the menu.

2. Grape Escape, Bath Road

With a cosy and relaxed vibe, a warm welcome as soon as you walk through the door and vinyl playing in the background, the Grape Escape is a perfect place to put the world to rights after a long working week. Well-known for its extensive collection of white, red and Roses, and offering a selection of over 300 wines each week, on a Friday it’s silly not to take advantage of £10 taken off any bottle of fizz before 8pm!

3. The Daffodil, Suffolk Parade

For a unique, and luxurious, setting for your Friday night drinks, look no further than The Daffodil. Boasting a reception with a grand sweeping staircase, a restaurant full of art deco features and a glamorous champagne and cocktail bar, this truly is a hidden gem you must see for yourself. When ‘Champagne Friday’ rolls round, guests can enjoy 50% off Champagne and fizz from 12pm-2am.

4. Hotel du Vin & Bistro, Parabola Road

Go on, treat yourself! For a truly indulgent way to spend your Friday night you could book an overnight stay at Cheltenham’s stunning Hotel Du Vin. From £125, enjoy an overnight stay, two course dinner and a bottle of Champagne in one of the hotel’s 49 distinctively decorated bedrooms complete with Egyptian cotton sheets, a roll-top bath or monsoon shower, and charming furnishings – heaven!

5. Bottle of Sauce, Ambrose Street

One of the latest additions to the Cheltenham bar scene is the Bottle of Sauce, already receiving rave reviews for their wide selection of craft lagers and beers, mouthwatering burgers and delicious pizzas delivered straight from a wood-fired oven. From Monday through to Friday take advantage of the ‘After Work Drinkin’’ menu where you and your friends can enjoy a glass of Prosecco for £4 in a lively, ambient setting.

6. Whittle Taps, Regent Street

Benefitting from a recent refurbishment, Whittle Taps, tucked away from Cheltenham’s High Street, is a lovely location to start your weekend off with a bang – especially as you can enjoy deals on bottles of house or low calorie Prosecco for £14 every Friday. Clink clink!

7. The Langton, London Road

Housed in an elegant Georgian building, end your working week in style at The Langton, only a short stroll from the town centre. Enjoy a few tipples among the stunning surroundings, whether you cosy up to the fire in the winter or soak up the sunshine on the pleasant terrace in the warmer months. Every Thursday and Friday, take advantage of their exclusive 20% off their fantastic selection of sparkling wines.

8. Malmaison, Bayshill Road

Well-known for their luxurious accommodation, wonderful spa and quirky afternoon teas, Malmaison on Bayshill Road also makes a lovely setting for Friday night drinks. Make your way there between 5pm and 8pm on Friday for £5 classic cocktails, signature drinks and glasses of Champagne – sounds good to us!

9. Bar 50, Suffolk Road

A little piece of New York in the heart of The Suffolks, Bar 50 is a trendy local hotspot that is loved by locals, and visitors that find it! Well-known for their expertly-crafted, and delicious, cocktails, it’s also an atmospheric setting for a bottle of fizz shared between friends. Every Friday between 6pm-9pm, treat yourself to a bottle of Prosecco at £15.95 and house Champagne at £22.95.

10. Montpellier Wine Bar, Bayshill Lodge

Unwind and relax at Montpellier Wine Bar, one of Cheltenham’s most iconic drinking establishments, which has stayed in the same spot at the end of Montpellier Terrace for 40 years. You’re always guaranteed a lively atmosphere at Montpellier Wine Bar throughout the week and weekend; and there’s a wide selection of wines, cocktails and glasses of fizz to choose from. Enjoy a glass of house Champagne for £3 at 3pm, £4 at 4pm, and so on, until 7pm on ‘Fizzing Fridays.’
