Cotswold Life Food & Drink Awards: Newcomer of the Year Award

Opening a new business is never easy, so when one succeeds it’s always cause for celebration. The Cotswolds is full of amazing new businesses but we feel that this one has gone above and beyond...

The Cotswold Life Food & Drink Awards are one of the biggest events in the local calendar and it is hugely anticipated by the region’s food and drink industry all year round.

We champion the best local producers, suppliers and businesses that are passionate about the Cotswold countryside and the future of our local environment.

Thanks to both the nominations of the public and our well-respected judges, we have picked a winner worthy of the ‘Newcomer of the Year Award’, sponsored by Cotswold Delights.

This year’s finalists

Temple Guiting Shop & Tearoom, Temple Guiting

Temple Guiting Shop & Tearoom was praised by judges for the great selection of exceptional local products that it stocks. Judges were pleased to hear that they plan to evolve their products and services based on the needs and wants of the local community.

The Bottle of Sauce, Cheltenham

Judges were impressed with The Bottle of Sauce being unique in the area and their plans to expand with accommodation above the pub. The business has a great audience since opening and is always very busy.

And the winner is...

Wilder, Nailsworth

Judges liked the taster menu concept that Wilder have implemented since opening late last year and thought this was a great USP. As well as locals, the business is refreshingly attracting people from further afield.
