Chris White announced as a finalist in the Restaurant Chef of the Year category of The Craft Guild of Chefs Awards 2017
Recognised as the “Chefs Oscars”, the Guild recognises and rewards the hospitality industry’s leading talent across all sectors of the industry. There will be 17 award categories ranging from young and apprentice chefs to pub and restaurant chefs, also recognising specialist sectors.
Chris, Head Chef and owner of The White Spoon, is no stranger to these awards, the restaurant was crowned best New Restaurant in 2016 against some incredibly tough competition. However, Chris is particularly delighted to have been recognised, this time, for his skills as a chef.
“Last year’s award was an amazing achievement for our restaurant, now to be nominated for this individual award, amongst two highly accoladed chefs, is amazing. I am so passionate about cooking, the food I develop and produce, in addition to the all-round dining experience we offer to our diners. The positive feedback we get from our customers is praise enough. However, receiving recognition at a national level gives me extra encouragement that all the hard work and sacrifices are worth it. “ said Chris
Chris, 29, owns The White Spoon with his partner, Purdey Spooner. Located near St Marys Church, Cheltenham. The restaurant offers an exceptional standard of food, presenting
season ingredients in innovative ways, in a relaxed atmosphere, an alternative to traditional fine dining.
The winner of the Restaurant Chef of the Year award will be announced on the June 1 2017 at the award ceremony at the Westminster Park Plaza.
