The sun was shining, the street performers singing and the shoppers out in force on Old Bond Street, Bath, for the first ever Cotswold Life event to find the Best Cake in the Cotswolds. The competition was tough, but luckily the people of Bath were on hand to help pick a winner.

Passing members of the public – whether they were on their lunch break, enjoying the school holidays or on a day out in the spa city of Bath – all took on the gruelling task of tasting each cake and voting for their favourite. It was a close competition. All of the cakes had a great reaction from the public and gathered high numbers of votes – a testament to the skill of our local Cotswold bakeries. But there could be only one winner and we are pleased to announce that The Best Cake in the Cotswolds is Cotswold Cakes’ Lemon Buttercream Cake.
