On Saturday 26th May the Friends of Westonbirt School kick-started the Jubilee celebrations in style with The Big Jubilee Picnic! The spectacular open air concert attracted over one thousand people to the school, including some from as far as Malta!

Party goers were treated to live music by the Big Brunch Band, Swindon Brass Band and Westonbirt Schools very own jazz band, a fantastic display by jive group Swingbytes, a classic car display and tours of the historic Italian Gardens. A beer and Pimms tent for the adults and an ice-cream bicycle for children proved very popular and the whole evening was a resounding success.

A spectacular display of fireworks drew the celebrations to a close with guests heartily singing along to Land of Hope and Glory and Rule, Brittania! It was an evening to be remembered by all.

All proceeds from the event will be donated to local charities. For more information about Westonbirt School or for details of Westonbirts House and Garden Open Days, please visit www.westonbirt.gloucs.sch.uk .
