Introduction to Tudor Hall

Tudor Hall is a girls' boarding school proud to be pushing girls to meet challenges while preparing them for a future of possibilities.

All schools claim to help students do their best, but at Tudor Hall head, Wendy Griffiths, believes that challenges need to be wide ranging: physical, intellectual, and social. All girls complete a series of outdoor pursuits including mountaineering, survival skills and cooking Ray Meers style in the Welsh hills. Nearly all girls play a musical instrument (or 3!), are in a sports team and get to compete or take part in a range of activities in Europe and much further a field. The school motto, Habeo ut Dem (I have that I may give), is demonstrated by a huge range of charity projects; this year sixth formers are running in the London marathon.

And the academic achievements prove that getting out of your comfort zone physically, leads to better intellectual questioning and rigour. 82% of A level students achieve grades A* to B with 99% of GCSE grades being A* to C and 25% being A*.

Tudor Hall is unique in so many ways. It is a small, vibrant, full boarding and day school which definitely punches above its weight. The academic results are excellent, produced by young women who have been selected for places at the school not just on their academic ability but also their personal strengths. The girls are not of one type and this creates a community where everybody recognises its members as individuals and celebrates this.

Staff work with pupils to ensure that each one is encouraged and supported to do her best. The girls are ambitious and determined to make the most of the many opportunities in school and beyond.

As Headmistress, Wendy Griffiths, never ceases to be amazed by the achievements of the pupils in all areas of school life but what still impresses her on a daily basis is how they genuinely care for not just the community but those in the outside world. They live out the school motto Habeo ut dem, I have in order that I may give.
