Pupils from Pinewood School took part in the National Schools Cross Country event at Gawcott, Buckinghamshire at the end of April. Over a testing course, three of the team members scored maximum points by clearing all the bonus fences, as well as the fastest times on their rounds. Individual successes saw pupils coming in 1st, 2nd and 3rd in their respective events, which made it a fantastic day for Pinewoods equestrian team.

Riding is just one of the many activities that pupils can take up whilst at Pinewood. The Polo team has also seen recent successes winning the Papplewick Prep Schools Tournament, whilst other children are involved in Fencing, regularly competing against other schools. Sailing, Archery, and Ballet are also popular options, as well as the Pinewood Adventure weekend where children take part in a variety of trips over their years at the school.

The breadth of extra-curricular activities gives children the opportunity to develop skills in new areas and many pupils enjoy the chance to flourish in a sphere that is more diverse than the normal academic and sporting curriculum. One parent comments Bothof our children have benefited enormously in so many ways from all the activities Pinewood gives which enhance the academic curriculum, and offers such an array of experiences and opportunities for the children.
