The hottest day in June since 1976 didn’t stop 150+ professionals across Gloucestershire gathering to hear from a line up of top local speakers

Gloucestershire’s professionals came together for 1 day to hear from a choice of 22 speakers share knowledge, best practice and network with others at the Growing Gloucestershire Conference on Wednesday (June 21) at The Growth Hub at the University of Gloucestershire Oxstalls Campus in Gloucester.

Hailed the ‘strongest ever’, Growing Gloucestershire has been running yearly since 2003 the conference was brought to the county by the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and Chartered Management Institute (CMI). Each institute host sessions focused on four key areas to business growth; financial management, marketing, people and management.

David Owen, Chief Executive Officer of GFirst LEP shared the Gloucestershire Growth Deal Update before representatives from each institute joined David for a live Q&A panel discussion on ‘Need support, who do you trust with your business?’.

Key notes included University of Gloucestershire’s Polly Pick and internationally renowned mastermind storyteller Geoff Burch.

Growing Gloucestershire Conference was co-chaired by Luan Wise and Felicity McClintock. Luan commented: “Having run seminars and a masterclass at Growing Gloucestershire for the past four years, I was delighted to host this year. Despite the heat, it was a great day full of learning, networking and, thanks to our final keynote Geoff Burch, a lot of laughter too. ‘Don’t wait for opportunity. Create it.’ was our opening message and we hope everyone took away something that will help to Grow Gloucestershire.”

The day was supported by conference sponsors Albright IP and Omega Resource Group, as well as exhibitors including Cloudtamers, Nimble elearning, Wheatley Printers, Gloucestershire Business Show and The Business Kitchen.

The conference is organised by volunteers representing their industry body; working collectively as Gloucestershire Professionals.

Speaker presentations are available at www.slideshare.net/glosprofs.
