Since 1999, the Buy With Confidence scheme has provided a safe platform for local businesses to demonstrate their credibility and commitment to excellent customer service

The current market has created a scenario where it is increasingly difficult to be able to stand out and ensure that the customer can see your business as it is: legal, honest and trustworthy. Since 1999, the Buy With Confidence scheme has provided a safe platform for local businesses to demonstrate their credibility and commitment to excellent customer service. When searching for a business, whether it is builders to marketing consultants or solicitors; consumers know that their search will lead to solid organisations that have been ‘Trading Standards Approved’.

Buy With Confidence is the largest scheme of its kind nationally and continues to expand its geographical coverage. It is one of the few business approval schemes in the country to cover almost all types of businesses, and it is run by Trading Standards, with officers specialised in consumer rights who will ensure that our members act within the letter and spirit of the law.

How does it help your business?

Being part of the scheme means that you work to high customer service standards; from the first contact until sending the last invoice, so customers can be guaranteed of an outstanding experience. Buy With Confidence ensures that its members are checked, not only financially (to assure solvency) but we also look at trading history and legal compliance, supported by references from existing customers. Businesses are only added to the Buy With Confidence directory following rigorous vetting and an audit. The Buy With Confidence directory is available both on and off line, which allows every customer to look for a trustworthy local company, no matter what area of expertise they require, at any time. Can you think a better way of letting customers find you?

How does it work?

If your business is committed to good customer service and has been operating for more than six months, you can find more information, membership costs and an online application form at www.buywithconfidence.gov.uk. If a business is approved, Trading Standards will continue monitoring the performance of all their members, including via published customer feedback on our website. Buy With Confidence promotes local businesses to consumers in your area and, in addition, we can help our members with their promotion, mediation in the event of a dispute and give advice on business compliance and customer care and all from as little as 69p* per day (*see website for more information).

Buy With Confidence is available nationwide and is run for the benefit of customers and members; it is independent and not for profit with all income being reinvested into the running, development and promotion of the scheme.

Having all these benefits at your fingertips, a program that is designed to help and promote your business and give you a new way to get in touch with customers who are looking for a quality service is only a step away. Apply online now and become a member of the largest Trading Standards Approved scheme in the UK.
