As a Gloucestershire based accountancy firm, Randall & Payne have been shortlisted alongside other firms from the UK Top 50 for 2017 (by turnover) as well as firms who are finalists in the National Firm of the Year category

Leading Gloucestershire chartered accountants Randall & Payne have been shortlisted for three British Accountancy Awards. The event takes place on September 26 2018 at Grosvenor House on Park Lane and is expected to be attended by over 1000 guests from practices all over the country.

Randall & Payne has been shortlisted in the following three categories:

1. Audit Team of the Year

2. New Partner of the Year

3. Rising Star of the Year

Audit Team of the Year

The dedicated Audit team at Randall & Payne are driven to deliver a first class effective and efficient service. The competition for new work, in the main, is Tier 2 firms and top 30 firms, demonstrating that Randall & Payne are held in very high regard in the UK. The Head of Audit, Russel Byrd who sits on the ICAEW’s Audit Registration Committee, has given a clear indication that further growth is on the agenda for the department, which has doubled in size over the last four years.

“Being shortlisted for this award for two years running is an amazing achievement for the audit team here at Randall & Payne. Our focus has always been to deliver an efficient and effective audit to our clients, working collaboratively with them when faced with issues following their audit. This recognition is testament to the audit team, and how hard we work to deliver a first-class product to our clients, I am really proud of them. To put this into perspective, the other two firms shortlisted are 9th and 11th of the top accountancy firms in the UK”, comments Russel Byrd.

New Partner of the Year

Vicky is the Head of Accountancy, and a self-confessed perfectionist who has a keen eye for business development and new technology. Vicky joined the Randall & Payne team in 2004, and worked across the business as a Client Relationship Manager before heading up the Accountancy department in 2014 and becoming a partner in 2015. Having been exposed to so many different services within the business, including tax, audit and business advisory, she approaches accountancy solutions with the bigger picture in mind.

As the leader of one of the firm’s largest departments – both in terms of staff members and revenue – it’s vital for Vicky to ensure that work flows through efficiently to provide clients with the best possible service. She is constantly refining and sharpening our accounts processes to keep standards high, and is usually found meeting with clients to help them achieve their goals and keep their business plans on track.

“I am really pleased to have made it through to the shortlist for “New Partner of the Year” award. I am up against strong competition from National firms (including top 100 firms) and so it will be exciting to see how things go on the night. I’m very proud to be representing not only myself but also the firm at the awards this year”, comments Vicky.

Rising Star of the Year

Trainee Corporate Tax Accountant, Gina Gardner, specialises in R&D Tax Relief. She has achieved a huge amount in a short space of time. She is MAAT qualified, and holds an additional qualification of an AAT Level 4 Diploma in Business Skills. She is also the first in the firm to attempt the new joint ACA/CTA programme and now as a Part Qualified Accountant, is due to begin her CTA studies this month aiming for completion by the age of 23. Gina takes on a considerable amount of responsibility for her trainee status, with her own client portfolio which is growing rapidly. Gina has also won Outstanding Apprentice of the Year 2016 and AAT Rising Star 2017, as well as being shortlisted for AAT Professional Member earlier this year – she was thanked for “inspiring all other AAT students and showing them what can be achieved”.

“I am absolutely over the moon to have been shortlisted for Rising Star at the British Accountancy Awards. It really underlines that my hard work and dedication is paying off, and to have that recognised nationally is absolutely fantastic. Just to attend the awards evening will be an amazing experience, and I look forward to celebrating on the night with my fellow shortlisted colleagues.”

Swan Lake. We know the music, we know the iconic imagery of the beautiful ballerina dressed as a swan, but I’m guessing that without reading the libretto in the program, most people don’t know the story. Which is why the audience relies on the dancers to tell us.
