Poeton Industries strengthens its global management team

The Poeton group are undertaking further global expansion plans and discussions are also well advanced with a number of major aerospace suppliers on process partnerships.

Over the last four years the Poeton group has expanded its process capabilities within the UK with the acquisition of additional factories in Gloucester and a major extension at its Cardiff, One Stop Shop, aerospace treatment facility. With demand for its advanced surface coatings increasing year on year, the group are undertaking further global expansion plans and discussions are also well advanced with a number of major aerospace suppliers on process partnerships.

Poeton Industries are therefore, pleased to announce the appointment of five key players into senior management roles that will support the company’s global growth strategy to position its process and R&D capabilities where they will best support its strategic customers and their supply chains.

Group Training Manager: Gary Ridgway BSc (Hons), PGCE

Poeton Industries have commitment to investing in a dedicated employee / apprentice Training Academy to be based in its Southbrook House facility in Gloucester. The academy will be headed up by Gary Ridgway and will provide world class training in all aspects of surface coatings to all our new starters from our UK process facilities as well as developing the skills of existing employees. Gary is hold a degree in Chemistry and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), a one-year higher education course for degree holders in England, Wales and Northern Ireland which provides further training to people wishing to become teachers within the UK education system. Gary, who has over 30 years’ experience in all aspects of chemical and plasma processing as well as in education, is an accredited tutor with the Institute of Materials Finishing and will use the new facility to deliver both theoretical and practical training. Poeton Industries has also recently gained recognition from EAL as an Assessment Centre for delivery of NVQ qualifications thus ensuring that training is carried out in line with recognised national standards.

Group Sales Manager (Director Designate): James Cooke BEng, MRes

James Cooke has joined the company after five successful years as Technical Sales Manager with a global OEM, where he gained extensive knowledge in selling and marketing high performance surface treatments to the Aerospace, Oil & Gas and other high technology manufacturing sectors in Europe and Asia. James, who holds a Masters in Materials Engineering on ‘Power and Aerospace Materials’ and a B.Eng. Honours Degree in Materials Science and Engineering, will be based at the companies UK Headquarters in Gloucester, where he will add his expertise to Poeton’s existing global sales team.

Special Projects Manager: Paul Bennett BSc (Hons)

Paul Bennett has been involved in the surface coating industry for over 32 years working across all disciplines within the industry and has held senior management roles in surface treatment processing, quality and business management at the highest level. Paul, who holds a Biochemistry (Chemistry) BSc (Hons), will be taking on a group wide role within Poeton Industries as Special Projects Manager, supporting the introduction of major OEM work packages into the company’s facilities and heading up future global treatment ventures that the group is undertaking.

Technical Manager: Martin Trigg-Hogarth BSc (Hons), HNC, MRSC

Martin Trigg-Hogarth holds an honours degree in Applied Chemistry, an HNC in Chemistry and is a trained quality auditor and his skills and expertise are a welcome addition to the Poeton Gloucester team. Martin has over 16 years’ experience across a variety of senior management roles within the aerospace surface treatment industry covering Nadcap and AS9100 approved chemical processing, NDT, painting and manufacturing and chemical milling. Within the Gloucester team, Martin will head up all aspect of technical support including oversight of the Laboratory which supports our internal approval compliance testing and R&D wear and corrosion testing of new coatings. The group will also be able to support its non UK treatment ambitions by using Martins deep knowledge and expertise of surface treatments

Technical Manager Ian James BSc (Hons)

Ian James has taken up the role of Technical Manager and brings a wealth of expertise to the Cardiff management team, having worked in the surface coating industry for over 38 years, gaining experience in wet and powder paints, metal spraying, plating and the design / installation of plating plants across a wide range on industrial ‘in-house’ treatment facilities in Europe. Ian holds BSc degrees with Hons in chemistry and metallurgy and will play a major role in supporting the Cardiff team, especially when they begin their NDT, paint and wet chemical expansion into their new 8,000 sq. /ft. factory extension scheduled to be completed in Q3/15
