Paish Tooth’s quiz night at Manor by the Lake in Cheltenham raised £1,558.84 in support of its charity of the year, Cheltenham Animal Shelter

The quiz was attended by over 110 local businesses and Animal Shelter enthusiasts, and generated lots of lively debate in aid of this local charity, which rescues and re-homes unwanted and abandoned animals from across Gloucestershire.

The teams included representatives from Endsleigh Insurance, Evans Jones and Christopher Davidson solicitors, who took part in the animal-themed quiz plus an amusing game of ‘Heads or Tails’, which was compered by Mark Kempner of Trueview Events.

Top dogs on the night were ‘Lost all dognity’, a team from PSU Technology who won first prize, while second place went to Thomson & Bancks.

Paul Symes-Thompson, head of Willans’ corporate & commercial department, said: “It’s fair to say that the inaugural Paish Tooth charity quiz was a great success. A fun and enjoyable evening was had by all, and most importantly, a tidy sum was raised for a very worthwhile local charity”.

John Tooth, Director of Paish Tooth, said: “It was fantastic to see so many people turn out to show their support – it was a really fun night and we’re thrilled to have raised so much money for such a great cause. Thank you to everyone who took part.”

Paish Tooth have been supporting Cheltenham Animal Shelter through a variety of fundraising efforts this year, which will culminate with a sale of mince pies and mulled wine at the Shelter’s Festive Evening on 1 December.

James Clay, Fundraising Manager from Cheltenham Animal Shelter, said: “The amount raised at Paish Tooth’s charity quiz was phenomenal, and far exceeded our expectations. We’re very grateful to everyone involved for their support in creating such a fantastic event.”
