Following record breaking growth, global engineering specialists Omega have opened a brand new 13,000 sq ft site - six times bigger than its previous location - to become the largest business premises at Cheltenham Trade Park.

The manufacturing facility was officially inaugurated by The Mayor of Cheltenham, Councillor Christine Ryder and Alex Chalk MP, alongside strategic customer representatives and staff. The launch took place days before the Farnborough International Airshow where Omega Engineering Services clients will be showcasing systems tested and proven by the Cheltenham based company.

Omega Engineering Services, led by a new managing director, has experienced unprecedented growth in its priority sectors, created new branding and website and recruited new members to its fast expanding operational team. Just in Q1 2016, the business has grown at its fastest ever rate in its 10-year history and is on course to quadruple its revenue and grow its team from 18 to 80 staff this year compared to last year.

The move follows a string of contract wins and exponential growth in the UK aerospace sector, including testing system solutions for one of the world’s largest aircraft manufacturer.

Michael Gibbin, managing director of Omega Engineering Services, commented on the new premises launch: “The launch marked a significant year in the history of Omega Engineering Services. Our ability to react and put the expertise in place for our customers is second to none. We have a solid reputation as the best in test. This has enabled us to retain programmes and grow partnerships with multinational aerospace customers. We’re looking forward to exciting times and an expanding future.”

Omega Engineering Services is part of the corporate group, Passionate About People, also incorporating recruitment solutions provider Omega Resource Group and RPO specialist Datum RPO. The company recently announced 63% year on year growth with revenue increasing from £39m in 2014 to £63m in 2015.

“Omega Engineering Services has positioned itself as the prominent engineering solutions provider within the South West region,” said Alan Beresford, Co-founder and Executive Board Member of the Passionate About People Group. “The business has more than doubled over the past year as a highly-specialist design and development provider into sectors including aerospace, specifically around manufacturing bespoke test solutions for new aircraft platform development. Our achievement is a testament in providing an unmatched service for our customers and we’re proud of the entire team and the contribution of the business to the overall success of our dynamic group.”

The Group has achieved forecasts of £85m in FY16, supporting the growth of Omega Engineering Services into new markets and to new heights. Omega Engineering Services has been shortlisted as SME Manufacturer of the Year 2016 in the Cotswold Life Engineering Manufacturing Innovation Awards.
