Applied Change is the brain child of two local IT business experts: Mark Vincent and Simon Stapleton, who had both delivered IT change in large blue chip companies for many years; helping to streamline processes and reduce cost.

"We wanted to use our knowledge to help businesses avoid the common pitfalls of large IT projects and significantly increase their chances of a successful outcome, helping to save cash and keep their customers happy," explains Mark Vincent, Director of Applied Change.

"Far too often we hear from business owners, I find it difficult to discuss projects with our IT department as we seem to be talking a different language", or, Our IT change projects never seem to deliver quite what we need." This is where we can help. Often the focus is on getting the latest technology but in order to realise the benefits, its also important to consider those who will use the new systems and how the changes will affect the working environment. Most people are naturally afraid of change so we help to facilitate a smooth transition from A to B and ensure that the outcomes will actually deliver the benefits."

"One recent success is a project weve been working on with Warner Music; weve been helping them consolidate their physical supply chain in Europe. The distribution side of the business was outsourced some years ago, but there were different partners in Italy, France, UK and Central and Eastern Europe, with different distribution centres and systems in each location.

We helped:

  • refine and clarify the vision for the consolidated systems and processes

  • build an investment case to get funding approval

  • deliver the programme of change and all the technology changes

  • give overall governance and control support

The drivers for the change were reducing both the IT footprint and costs. We took on the main role of project manager."

Paul McDonald, Vice President International IT at Warner Music, explained: "Applied Change went above and beyond the Project Management role, helping to get approval and business buy-in from our board and fighting some difficult battles on our behalf. Without Mark and his team we wouldn't have completed the first stage of the project on time and under budget!
