Bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role, John Fisher joins Lodders' Agriculture and Rural Sector team

Local law firm Lodders Solicitors LLP has recruited John Fisher as a partner in its Agriculture and Rural Sector team.

The former head of the Agricultural and Rural Land Development department at regional firm Davies and Partners Solicitors, John brings a wealth of sector knowledge and over 20 years' experience of advising landowners, tenants, farmers and landed estates, developers and businesses, on rural property and agricultural matters.

Working alongside head of Lodders' Rural Sector team, James Spreckley, John will divide his time between the firm's Cheltenham and Stratford upon Avon offices, supporting clients and contacts across the UK, particularly in the Three Counties, Gloucestershire and Warwickshire.

John has worked in the region for many years and is well known to landowners and professionals from the rural world.

Moving with John is his assistant Caroline Robbins who has worked with him and his clients for many years. The two of them join Lodders' Agricultural team, which recently also recruited solicitor, Sarah Richardson, an agricultural property law specialist, bringing the firm's Rural Sector team to over 20 lawyers, including its 'rural ambassadors' David Lodder and Rod Bird.

"John has a proven track record of long term client relationships which echoes very much our approach. We are delighted to welcome him and Caroline and see their arrival as a significant addition to the Agricultural team," says James Spreckley.

"He has vast experience of dealing with a broad spectrum of complex agricultural and rural land transactions, and is well known and respected throughout the region, particularly across the Three Counties. John's arrival enables the Rural Sector team and the firm to build on our strong existing relationships in these locations, as one of the top legal firms serving the rural and landed estates communities. Equally our Rural Sector team can offer John's clients a wide range of assistance with issues such as succession planning, family matters and specialist property disputes."

John, a member of the Agricultural Law Association and Country Landowners Association, adds: "Lodders is a well established firm with an excellent reputation for high quality work, expertise and client service. I am delighted to join the firm. Clients old and new benefit from the firm's insightful, specialist agricultural and rural sector knowledge, but also Lodders' comprehensive service and top ranking teams in private client, charity, highways and real estate to name just a few."

James explains: "Lodders has worked with farmers, landowners and rural businesses throughout its 230-year history and really does understand the demands and dynamics of those in the rural sector. At a time when the sector is poised for significant change, we want to be ready with the right people and skills, to help our clients deal with the challenges and opportunities that change will bring.

"John's experience and knowledge reinforces Lodders' position as the go-to law firm for landowners, farmers and rural businesses, with our team of legal experts that reflects the modern and changing legal needs of businesses, families and individuals working and living in the rural community and countryside."
