2017 marks the eighth consecutive year that the firm has supported the town’s annual running fundraiser, which this year takes place on Sunday September 10

Local law firm Lodders has confirmed it is headline sponsor of Stratford’s Big 10k race once again this year.

2017 marks the eighth consecutive year that the firm has supported the town’s annual running fundraiser, which this year takes place on Sunday September 10.

Organisers are expecting more than 1000 runners will take part. They will tackle the same course introduced last year and start on Shipston Road, and pass the RSC Theatre on the final straight to the finish line by the bandstand on the recreation ground.

Lodders is already putting together its Big 10k team for 2017. Lucy Skelton, Maria Fitzgerald, Steven Baker, Kate Higginson, Dan McLeod, Alastair Frew and Scott Parmenter are the first at the firm to sign up this year.

The Stratford 10k has a new charity partner for 2017, the Shakespeare Hospice, the independent local charity providing specialist palliative day care for people living in the Stratford upon Avon district.

Commenting on Lodders’ involvement in the Big 10k for the eighth year, the firm’s Steven Baker, partner in and head of the Residential Property team, said: “The Big 10k is an important feature of Stratford’s annual events calendar, and Lodders is delighted to take a lead role once again in 2017, as main sponsor of the event.

“We enjoy taking an active role in our local community,” he adds, “whether through our charitable work including for our own Lodders Charitable Foundation that is supporting the Farming Community Network and Shakespeare’s Puppies Appeal this year, or by sponsoring and attending events such as Stratford’s ‘Big 10k’ and the Moreton Show.”
