“Our ‘big biz quiz’ is always an enjoyable night of networking and fundraising and one that many businesses tell us they look forward to each year.”

Willans LLP solicitors are challenging Gloucestershire business brains to go head-to-head for a good cause, at the law firm’s annual ‘Big Biz Quiz’ on Tuesday May 15.

The quiz, which starts at 7:00pm at Cheltenham’s Manor by the Lake, is one of Willans’ most popular events on its busy calendar. Each year, around 200 local business people put their knowledge to the test at this popular evening, and those interested are advised to book now to avoid disappointment as tickets are limited.

Tickets are available at £50 for a team of four, including a light food platter per team, at willanscharityquiz.eventbrite.co.uk. All proceeds will go to childhood bereavement charity Winston’s Wish, which provides much-needed support to children and their families after the death of a parent or sibling. There will also be a charity auction and raffle on the night.

The champion team will be presented with a trophy, which was won last year by Hazlewoods LLP. Team entries from any Gloucestershire business are welcome, with regular attendees from sectors including property, accountancy, finance, technology and HR.

James Grigg, partner and head of the charity committee at Willans, said: “Our ‘big biz quiz’ is always an enjoyable night of networking and fundraising and one that many businesses tell us they look forward to each year.

“The support that Winston’s Wish provides to children both locally and across the UK has touched the hearts of many of us. We’re aiming to raise £3,000 from the quiz alone, so we’re delighted to see that tables are filling up fast.

“We look forward to seeing the room filled with Gloucestershire professionals, raising funds for a very deserving cause”.

Willans has raised around £80,000 over the past five years which has been put toward all sorts of charitable projects throughout Gloucestershire. This year, the firm’s chosen charity is Winston’s Wish, and the team of around 75 staff are busy planning and undertaking fundraising efforts ranging from baking competitions to marathons.

Malaney Varaljay-Boyce, head of regional fundraising and events at Winston’s Wish, commented:

“We are so thankful to Willans for all of the amazing support they provide Winston’s Wish. Their commitment to raising funds and creating awareness surrounding the work that we do, has been invaluable. At Winston’s Wish, our vision is a society where every child can get the help they need when someone close to them dies, and it is because of the support of firms like Willans, that we are able to continue to reach more children and give them the hope they need to lead full and flourishing lives.

“This quiz night is sure to be a blast, so please do come out to support Willans’ fundraising efforts and help make a positive impact on the lives of bereaved children and their families.”
