Hazlewoods are celebrating after winning one of the biggest awards in the accountancy world. Hazlewoods Tax Team won the “Top 50 Tax Team of the Year Award” at the prestigious 2015 British Accountancy Awards. The accolade was presented by comedian and actor Rufus Hound in front of hundreds of guests at a glittering awards ceremony at The Brewery in London on November 24.

The award was open to tax teams within firms that had been placed in the 2014 Accountancy Age Top 50 Survey. Hazlewoods were up against some tough competition in the category including one of the UK’s “Big Four” accountancy firms and three others in the Top Ten. The award recognised Hazlewoods skill in delivering tax advice that has the greatest measurable benefit to clients, demonstrating the high value of quality professional tax advice during the past 12 months.

Nick Haines, Head of Tax at Hazlewoods said: “I am so incredibly proud of the tax team and all the hard work they put in, day in, day out, which has resulted in this award. “We have a great team, with a wide breadth of experience and expertise that has helped our clients to be as tax efficient as possible and also keep them protected from an increasingly challenging HMRC. “To win in such tough competition is a fantastic achievement, but one that has been thoroughly deserved by the team”.

The award comes hot on the heels of another major success for Hazlewoods. Earlier in November the firm won a national award for professionals providing high quality independent advice in the health and care sector. Hazlewoods were presented with the Management Consultancy Award in the Management, Advisory and Consulting section of the 2015 LaingBuisson Awards in London and were chosen from 187 finalists from throughout the UK.
