Gloucestershire College works closely with hundreds of local businesses to deliver apprenticeships and employee training programmes across a wide range of industries.

In line with the College’s dedication to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths), its Engineering Department, based at Gloucester Campus near the historic Docks, boasts state-of-the-art facilities and industry-experienced lecturers who put life into the theory they teach.

This year, Gloucestershire College’s Engineering Department will be offering an exciting new range of higher level apprenticeships, full-time courses and short courses, in addition to its current, established offer.

Those with an interest in electronics will be able to study for a BEng (Hons) Electronic and Computer Systems Engineering (in conjunction with the University of the West of England); a FdSc Electronic and Computer Systems Engineering; a Level 2 qualification in Electrical Electronics; an HND in Aeronautical Engineering; and Level 3 BTEC in Electronics Engineering. While mechanical-minded students will be able to study a Level 3 BTEC in Mechanical Engineering; an HNC in General Engineering; and Foundation Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Short courses include CNCs in Solidworks, HASS Machining Centres, CAD Plus, CAM Plus, CNC Plus, Coded Welding, Pipe Welding, C-Programming, Abrasive Wheel and PLC.

As well as intermediate and advanced apprenticeships already offered in Engineering, Gloucestershire College will be training Level 2 Welding and Fabrication apprentices, and Level 2 and 3 Maintenance apprentices too.
