Gloucester 10K open for entries
PUBLISHED: 17:24 03 June 2014 | UPDATED: 17:54 03 June 2014
The Gloucester 10K is now open for entries, providing the opportunity to visit Gloucester Cathedral, Gloucester Docks, Gloucester Quays and improve your fitness whilst doing so.
The race starts at 9am on July 13, finishing in Gloucester Park and followed by Gloucester’s Family Fun Day. The course is designed with sight seeing in mind and therefore has the odd twist and turn. However, it is predominantly flat and for most runners this is a potential PB course.
Date: Sunday, July 13, 2014 at 9am
Venue: Gloucester Park, Gloucester
Surface: Road, footpath and towpath
Route: 1 lap partially retraced
Setting: City centre taking in tourist attractions and also canal towpath
Profile: Predominantly flat
Wheelchair accessible: Wheelchair users are asked to contact the organisers as there are 1 or 2 bollards which are challengingly placed
Water stations: Yes, at 3K and 7K
Distance markers: Every 1K

The aim of the route is to showcase Gloucester so it passes the Cathedral, through the Docks and Gloucester Quays and there is a run along the canal towpath. Given the intention of taking in the sites it does twist in the odd place, but is still a fast course. The event is very much a community event re-established by Davies and Partners Solicitors following the decision of commercial organisers not to continue with it. Any surplus will be given to Gloucester charities.

Postal entry: No, online only
On-the-day entry: No
