The Rise, and Rise of Ransomware and the Darknet

Archant

Book you place on Wednesday October 4 or Thursday October 5 for this must-attend event. Find out why the risks are so real, how your business could be targeted, what you can do to prepare and how you can prevent your business becoming the next victim

In association with Cotswold Life Business & Professional and Tech OP, Gloucester College will host this free, must-attend and interactive event aimed at business owners, executives and decision makers.

The Rise, and rise, of Ransomware and the Darknet event will take place on Wednesday October 4 at Gloucestershire College, Cheltenham Campus, Princess Elizabeth Way and on Thursday October 5 at Gloucestershire College, Gloucester Campus, Llanthony Way. Both events will start at 9am (with 8.30am arrival) until 1pm.

When news of the mass infection or encryption of a well-known business’s I.T. system breaks, you may think that businesses ought to have “done better” or “been better protected”. You may even feel a little fortunate that your own business is not

such a well-known and targeted brand!

But wait. Small and medium size businesses account for 99.9% of all private sector businesses with a combined annual turnover of £1.8 trillion*. So, if I were a cyber-criminal looking at the market for the biggest return, who would I go after?

Would I target the corporation with the £200,000 firewalls, or the business with the £20 antivirus? Whose data is more important to them? If a small or medium sized organisation loses its data, it won’t be in business any more. So it’s clear then…cyber-criminals are after your company.

This event will ensure business owners, executives and decision makers will leave with information that can be taken back to their business to use that very day.

Places are limited so book soon to avoid disappointment.

Swan Lake. We know the music, we know the iconic imagery of the beautiful ballerina dressed as a swan, but I’m guessing that without reading the libretto in the program, most people don’t know the story. Which is why the audience relies on the dancers to tell us.
