Cotswold based money.co.uk named as one of the greatest places to work

Cirencester based comparison website, money.co.uk has been named as one of the best places to work in the UK for the third year in a row by Great Place to Work®
Staff from companies throughout the UK were asked to fill out anonymous surveys about their work place and Cirencester based money.co.uk scored highly in every category. The judges also based their ranking on money.co.uk’s workplace culture, policies and practices.
Last year founder and managing director Chris Morling, who was recently dubbed as “Britain’s best boss” by the UK media, re-invested £3 million into money.co.uk’s headquarters. This has been just one of the many steps Chris has taken to create the ultimate work environment for his team as part of his mission to make the independent comparison website the best place to work in the South West.
The headquarters in Cirencester is based out of a Victorian castle which offers a range of on-site luxuries such as a Star Wars-themed cinema complete with popcorn machine and beer fridge. The money.co.uk team were asked for input on their ideal office before the designs for the revamp were created; their feedback guided the castle re-design, enabling MD Chris to create their perfect workspace.
The comparison website, which was ranked the second fastest growing business in the UK in 2015, offers employees much more than just a state of the art office space. The team enjoy an all-expenses-paid mini break abroad each year to destinations such as Florida, New York, Budapest, Dubrovnik and Copenhagen.
MD Chris Morling donates 10% of all company profits to charity and staff get 3 days off a year to volunteer for charitable causes. When it comes to bonuses, employees have received an annual boost of up to 45% in recent years alongside £5,000 to donate to a charity of their choice - totalling up to a quarter of a million each year.
The money.co.uk team are treated to free breakfast, flexible start times, monthly socials both in the evening and at lunchtime and weekly beers to celebrate an early finish every Friday. There is also an arcade machine, pool table, PS4, table football and an Xbox for entertainment.
To help promote well-being and a healthy work/life balance the growing team of 52 have access to an onsite weights gym and cardio studio and enjoy free weekly games of basketball and football which MD Chris enjoys getting involved in. This year the team are taking part in the Upton triathlon and 40 mile charity walk, Trek the Night.
