Another successful event with FinditinWorcestershire

Over 80 businesses attended the latest FinditinWorcestershire breakfast event at Sixways stadium

The event was held on Tuesday May 16, and people of Worcestershire were given an overview into the world of PR and had the opportunity to meet influential journalists.

Rachael Taplin, Managing Director at Blueboo Media Ltd, gave advice on how to develop relationships with the media to increase the odds of being featured across TV, radio, print and online.

In addition, she provided useful techniques on how to manage the press and gave top tips on how to pitch and distribute a story successfully.


Lorna Jeynes, Business Growth Manager at Worcestershire County Council said:” It was great to see so many people at Tuesdays FinditinWorcestershire learning about PR and meeting local journalists.

“It’s so important that small businesses get their name out there and getting in with the local and national media can be a great way of a achieving this for little or no money.

“Rachel’s tips were fantastic, I think my take away message was to make the emotional connection, the journalists don’t want an advert, they want a story. Hopefully following her tips our businesses will be hitting the headlines soon.”

Attendees also had the opportunity to pitch their story to the media for themselves. Peter John, Regional Editor at Newsquest Midlands South, responsible for 16 newspapers and 14 news websites, and Aaron Wise, reporter from the Bromsgrove and Droitwich Standard newspapers were available to discuss any stories and gave them guidance on how to achieve positive press coverage for themselves.
