A merger of two teams of top accountants has created the largest practice in the Stroud Valleys

GCSD Accountants combines the expertise of GriffithClarke and Sutton Dipple at modern offices in Stonehouse Park, Sperry Way in Stonehouse.

Headed up by Julian Owens, Gavin Hollywell, Tim Dipple and Ian Sutton, the two former businesses have integrated quickly to offer clients an unbeatable package of accountancy services.

Tim Dipple explained: “The office has a real family feel about it, which is fantastic, and there’s a real buzz about the place.

“When businesses merge, I suppose it’s always at the back of your mind that it might lead to a change in culture, but we were absolutely confident that wouldn’t happen here, and so it’s proved.

“It’s amazing how everyone has gelled together so well and so quickly. Everyone’s attitudes and outlooks are similar, and they’re fully on board with what we’re trying to achieve.

“We’ve taken the best of both well-established practices and applied it across the whole client base with a better mix of staff, increased cover and wider knowledge base.

“We’re large enough to provide clients with the expertise they need across a wide range of matters but small enough to offer a hands-on, personalised service.

On the successful merger, Gavin Hollywell added: “Planning is key. You need to think about the business implications all the way through, that’s from running the business, through to clients and staff.

“For instance, our staff are very important to us so we arranged a couple of social events for them to meet each other on relaxed terms which relieved any apprehension when we eventually merged.”

The merger will provide clients with an enhanced service and staff with better career prospects as GCSD evolves.
