2 million contract in for Nailsworth business

Over 25,000 miles of commuting in the last eight weeks by managing director John Little and his bid team, has secured Gloucestershire Engineering business, Fluid Transfer International (FTi), a 2.11 million contract to supply Indonesias national oil company.

Over the next six months, Fluid Transfer will supply Pertamina with hydrant dispenser vehicles for refueling aircraft at Indonesias major international airports in Jakarta, Medan and Bali. A key aspect of the contract is inclusion of in country local content, so Fluid Transfer will build the modules at its Nailsworth factory while its Indonesian partner, Aweco, will supply the chassis, integrate and commission the modules under the supervision of Fluid Transfers engineers.

John Little, travelled to Surabaya and Jakarta to secure the contract, and was supported by the Gloucestershire Chamber of Commerce and Gloucester MP Richard Graham, chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Indonesia.

This is a great fight back for Fluid Transfer which has sought to secure new business following the Governments defence cuts in 2010. Before then, 68 per cent of the companys business was in the UKs defence sector. Now this figure is less than 20 per cent, according to John Little and the company has focused on an export drive with other recent successes in Qatar and Korea is now working in new geographical markets, including the Ukraine and Kazakhstan. John Little commented this new work means we are recruiting an additional 25 staff including assembly and fitter technicians, production engineer and project manager for the next 6-month period to ensure we meet the challenging delivery schedules demanded by our overseas customers.
