The current vintage craze for the fashion, style and entertainment of the 1940's and 50's is coming to Malmesbury Town Hall on Sunday 9th October.

For just 6, guests attending the Wiltshire Vintage Tea Party will be treated to tea and homemade cakes served on delightful vintage china by Lavinia's Tea Party; as well as vintage entertainment in the form of 1940's and 50's inspired performances by local entertainers and a mini stroll dance class by the talented Swingbytes (www.swingbytes.co.uk).

For those who aren't 'made-up' for the occasion, there will be a vintage pamper parlour with local make-up artists; hair stylists and nail technicians (from Perfection Health and Beauty, Foxley) on hand to recreate the style of the era (5 a treatment). To capture the moment, a fun photo booth will be set-up with vintage style props.

Furthermore there will be local vintage stallholders selling vintage clothing, jewellery, accessories, home ware and handmade goodies! Look out for Joan Pressley of Devizes stunning selection of reasonably priced vintage head pieces and hats.

In the spirit of 'make do and mend', the Merry Milliners will be running fascinator making workshops. Guests can transform old 7" vinyl records with fabric off-cuts into a stunning headpiece (5 per person).

There is no time like the present to step back in time and this is a surely what Sunday's were about: afternoon tea, wearing your Sunday best (vintage clothing is optional), and maybe a cheeky gin in a tea cup or a glass of Pimms!

What's more Lavinia's Tea Party is offering readers the chance to win 2 pairs of free tickets to the event. Simply email mail@laviniasteaparty with the answer to this question: Which Prime Minister had a tea named after him? Winners will be announced by email and on the Lavinia's Tea Party website on Monday 3rd.

Malmesbury Town Hall is the perfect setting for a vintage party with it's period features; stunning old windows, high ceilings and cute original stage; combined with modern facilities and free parking on a Sunday, directly outside in Cross Hayes.

Tickets for the Wiltshire Vintage Tea Party are 6 and available at Malmesbury Tourist Information 01666 826166 or online at www.laviniasteaparty.com. The event is also on Facebook: Wiltshire Tea Party.
