There is no time like the past for wiltshire's vintage tea party!

On Sunday 9th October, Lavinia Drake will be hosting the Wiltshire Vintage Tea Party and pamper afternoon, with 1940's and 50's inspired cabaret and burlesque entertainment at Malmesbury Town Hall.

Lavinia (aptly named after her sister's Victorian pop-up book Lavinia's cottage) just loves: baking, dressing up in vintage clothing and collecting pretty vintage china sets; so it only seemed natural for her to turn these hobbies into her business 'Lavinia's Tea Party' (www.laviniasteaparty.com). Lavinia's Tea Party offers vintage china hire and tea party packages for birthdays, weddings, hen dos, events and fetes. Not only does Lavinia make her own bunting , she also makes tiered cake stands from vintage china, and from any breakages she creates earrings and brooches which she sells online and at events.

For Lavinia, there is no time like the present to celebrate the past, so she has gathered some of her friends and fellow vintage enthusiasts together, from across Wiltshire and Gloucestershire, to give Malmesbury a taster of the 1940's and 50's! On arrival, Lavinia will serve guests afternoon tea on beautiful vintage china. For those who aren't 'made-up' for the occasion, there will be a vintage pamper parlour with make-up artists, hair stylists and nail technicians on hand to recreate the style of the era (5 a treatment). There will also be stalls selling vintage clothing, jewellery, stunning hats, accessories and home ware! In the spirit of 'make do and mend', the Merry Milliners will be running 'Tilt Topper' fascinator making workshops with vinyl records and fabric off-cuts (5 per person). Furthermore, to capture the moment, a fun photo booth will be set-up with vintage style props.

Throughout the day there will be a programme of 1940's and 50's inspired cabaret.

Malmesbury Town Hall is the perfect setting for a vintage party with it's period features; stunning old windows, high ceilings and cute original stage; combined with modern facilities and free parking on a Sunday, directly outside in Cross Hayes.

Tickets for the Wiltshire Vintage Tea Party are 6 and available at Malmesbury Tourist Information 01666 826166 or online at www.laviniasteaparty.com
