Sought-after interiors painter Alison Pullen, a graduate of the Royal College of Art, will be showing a series of brand new paintings throughout October, including this striking depiction of the Observatory at Green Templeton College.

Alisons specialism is to use mixed media collage in her case images found in interiors magazines, before super-imposing her own painting on top. The result is an ethereal, atmospheric 'portrait' of a room. She is expert at describing daylight, pattern and texture using a combination of quite economical marks, and found images. Its possible to find details in her work that you may not at first have noticed, so rewarding the viewer time and time again. She always works in situ, making work in series, flipping through dozens of images to shape in her back-ground before adding her painting on top.

Alison recently made a series of work based at the Bodleian Library, and the Divinity School in Oxford. She has made a number of commission works for private collectors, and also for the throne room at Buckingham Palace.

Alisons work will be on display throughout October at Sarah Wiseman Gallery, in Summertown.
